APNS expresses concern over Tarin’s resignation

KARACHI: The APNS expresses its profound concern over the resignation of the Federal Minister for Finance, Shaukat Tarin apparently for his personal reasons.

The APNS appreciates the role played by Tarin in the revival of the sliding economy of the country when it was struggling to survive from the catastrophes of the war on terrorism and its dwindling impacts.

Tarin, to a great extent, has curtailed the crisis and tried his best in the given circumstances to put the economy back on track. He was able to secure IMF assistance when the country was on the verge of default on repayment of foreign liability. The APNS wished that Tarin would have continued to vitalise our economy. The APNS acknowledges the role played by Shaukat Tarin in facilitating and supporting the newspaper industry, which was braving an acute financial crunch due to international economic slow down.
