APNS, CPNE action bodies meet today
KARACHI: All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) Action Committee Convener Faseih Iqbal and CPNE President Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman, in a statement, have announced that a joint meeting of the APNS and the CPNE action committees will be held on March 26 at 3:30 pm at the CPNE Secretariat here.
The APNS Executive Committee at its meeting held on March 15, 2004 and the Standing Committee of the CPNE while considering the ban on advertisements to the Nawa-i-Waqt Group of publications have formed action committees of their respective organizations to chalk out further course of actions for restoration of the government advertisements and ensure equitable and judicious flow of advertisements to genuine publications.
The joint meeting will consider and finalize the proposals of the executive committee members for further actions, including one-day strike of publications, advertisement campaign to educate public opinion on the policies of the government, refusal at government advertisement as a protest by all publications and a march of editors and publishers from the APNS Secretariat to the Mazar-e-Quaid-e-Azam and other appropriate measures in this regard.
