APNS body pays tributes to Fasih Iqbal

ISLAMABAD: The members of the Federal Capital Committee (FCC) of All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) have expressed their shock over the sad demise of Syed Fasih Iqbal, Editor-in-Chief, Balochistan Times, who has expired in Karachi after a brief illness.

In a meeting held here under the chairmanship of Zahid Malik, Chairman, FCC, the members recalled the services rendered by the late Syed Fasih Iqbal who had been President of the APNS for the promotion of the cause of this elite body of the publishers.

They also paid tributes to the late veteran journalist, who had also been a Senator, for always upholding collective interest of the media of Pakistan in general and that of Balochistan in particular, says a press release issued here on Friday.

The committee proposed that in view of his enormous and commendable services, a Committee Room or a Hall of the APNS may be named after him. It also proposed that the Library of the Journalism Department of the University of Balochistan, Quetta, may also be named after him.
