APNEC condemnation
Karachi: The chairman and office-bearers of APNEC, as well as office-bearers of various newspaper organisations, in a joint statement issued on Friday, condemned the alleged unlawful action of certain elements within the press industry for “conspiring and trying to hijack APNEC” by conducting unlawful elections of APNEC in Islamabad.
The representatives vowed to foil any conspiracy against newspaper employees, which they stated was being hatched by the ‘Qabza Mafia’. They warned the selfish individuals to desist from weakening the apex body and urged all newspaper employees to step forward and play their role in stamping out all illegal moves.
The APNEC NEC will meet in Islamabad on March 2 to announce the schedule of elections to elect genuine representatives of APNEC, the joint statement concluded.
