Anti-Pak ideology media campaign: National Assembly Body expresses its displeasure

Islamabad: The standing committee of the National Assembly on Information and Broadcasting has expressed its displeasure on the ongoing campaign in the electronic and print media designed to criticize the ideology of Pakistan. The Committee directed the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and also the Press Council of Pakistan to take steps to put an end to this trend initiated by certain quarters.

As reported in the national press the committee also appealed to the intellectuals and the Pakistan loving circles to censure such a campaign and boycott such elements who are spreading this anti State and anti Pakistan ideology propaganda material.

The standing committee met on August 28 in the Parliament House. The Chairperson of the committee Mrs. Belum Hasnain said that negative views and talk against the existence and ideology of Pakistan could not be tolerated by our patriotic citizens. The media networks, if engaged in such a campaign should be boycotted he said.

Nobody can brook such criticism against the country as we owe our existence to Pakistan. Mrs. Bushra Rehman said that no country in the world allows statements or debates in the media against its existence or the country’s ideology. It is our responsibility to take measures to get criticism stopped against the ideology of the Pakistan. MNA, Pir Aftab Hussain Jilani said that anti democracy statements must also be discouraged at the same time.
