ANP boycotts assembly proceedings
KARACHI: The Awami National Party on Monday boycotted the Sindh Assembly session to protest against the postponement of the by-elections on PS-94.
The ANP, which is one of the coalition parties of the Pakistan People’s Party-led government, has two members in the house of 168. The ANP members are Amanullah Mehsood and Amir Nawab, who is also a provincial minister. Mr Nawab did not attend his office in protest of the decision to postpone the by-election without taking his party into confidence.
The PPP leadership did not held negotiations to persuade the ANP to end its boycott and return to the house as ANP’s provincial president Shahi Syed was out of the city.ANP leader Amin Khattak, however, said that the party would continue its boycott unless the government would not address their grievances.
