Anchor apologizes for mentioning Imran Khan’s name on air, claims editor
ISLAMABAD—Haroon Rashid, managing editor of independenturdu.com, claims that a senior anchor had to apologize for taking the name of former Prime Minister Imran Khan on air.
In a tweet, Haroon said, “A senior anchor had to say sorry for unintentionally taking the name.”
Without naming him, PEMRA has banned PTI chairman Imran Khan’s name from TV channels. The TV channels mute voices while mentioning his name.
When Abbass Nasir, a former editor of Dawn, asked who was the senior anchor, Haroon simply said, “KA”.
