KARACHI- Arshad A Zuberi, Secretary-General of the All Pakistan Newspaper Society (APNS) announced categories that constitute the 15th APNS Journalists Awards and requested journalists/photographer/cartoonists of member publication to submit their entries in any one of the categories.

Editors/Chief Executive of member publication may also send the entries on behalf of their journalists for the contest.

The entrants are not allowed to send entries for more than one category. Entry should have appeared in member publication of the APNS during the period Ist January 1999, to December 31, 2000.

The categories are:

BEST INVESTIGATIVE REPORT: open to all dailies and periodical publications.

SCOOP OF THE YEAR: open to daily publications only best column: in the following three subcategories:
-English language dailies
-Urdu language dailies
-Regional language dailies

BEST FEATURE: In the following three subcategories:
-English language publications
-Urdu language publications
-Regional language publications

Best article of the year 1997 or 1998: open to dailies and periodicals.

BEST CARTOON: open to all cartoonists of member publications.

BEST PHOTOGRAPH: open to all photographers of member publications. The photograph, six copies each, should be standard size 10×12 inches.

The APNS Secretary-General stated that participants are required to send three entries in any one category (six copies of each entry) published in member publications during the relevant period (Ist January, 1999, to December 31, 2000).

Entries must be submitted having been composed/typed on separate. Sheets without giving the name of the author and publication along with a copy of tear sheet of the publication. For regional language entries, entrants are required to submit Urdu/English translation of the entry.

For the Scoop Of The Year category, the Editors of member publications may send three such entries of their journalists, which they consider the best scoop published in their newspapers during 1999 and 2000.

Arshad A. Zuberi further announced that sending of the entries should be responsibility of individuals and only in case where tunes of participants do not appear in the byline, the entry should be countersigned by component authority in the publication.

All entries should reach the APNS Secretariat by February 28,2001 positively. Entries be addressed to Dr.Tanvir A. Tahir, Executive Director, APNS 32, Farid-Chambers, Abdullah Haroon Road. Karachi.
