Ahsan Khan joins the cast of Alif

Ahsan Khan is a versatile actor with a number of diverse characters to his credit and years of experience to back it up. Now, the Udaari actor, who prefers to not attach himself with arbitrary projects, has joined the cast of forthcoming drama serial Alif that also stars Sajal Aly, Hamza Ali Abbasi and Kubra Khan in pivotal roles.To find out more about the role he will be essaying in Alif, Instep got in touch with Khan, who shared that he is one of the main leads.

“This character is different from what I have done in the past. It is not a run-of-the-mill kind of role,” Khan revealed. “The character is very spiritual, who finds tranquility in Rumi’s words and takes inspiration from his life.” As for his prolific co-stars, Khan said that he is thrilled to work with some of his favorite actors such as Sajal Aly and Hamza Ali Abbasi, among others. “The entire cast and crew is very talented. The play is being directed by the brilliant Haseeb Hassan of Mann Mayal fame, while the script is written by Umera Ahmed, who is a writer par excellence. And then there is Sana Shahnawaz, who is co-producing the project with Samina Humayun Saeed, and is one of the best producers in Pakistan. So it is an absolute pleasure to work with the best team,” the actor shared.

Apart from Alif, the actor is also geared up for his upcoming period drama, Aangan, and another play called Mariam Parera, which touches upon important issues surrounding minorities in Pakistan.
