Ahmad Azeez Zia passes away

LAHORE – Ahmed Azeez Zia, former Executive Editor, The Nation, died in Lahore on April 22 night after a protracted illness. He was 80.

He started his career as sub editor at Pakistan Times, and served as Resident Editor The Pakistan Times Rawalpindi. He also worked as General Manager, Progressive Papers Limited. He was printer and publisher of weekly Viewpoint for about four years. Later he resumed services as Executive Editor of The Pakistan Times.

He joined The Nation since its launching in 1986. Due to his bad health, he got retirement from The Nation sometimes back.

He is survived by a widow Mrs. Jameela Azeez Zia and Dr. Nadeem Azeez Zia and two daughters Mrs. Shaheen Fasih Toor and Mrs. Nasreen Pasha.

His funeral procession will be taken out from his residence (16-Empress Road, Lahore) after Juma prayers at 3:00 pm.
