40 TV channels to become operational by end-2005
ISLAMABAD – Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Sheikh Rashid Ahmad in Islamabad on October 29, said Pakistan’s electronic media is growing at a fast pace and there would be about 40 TV channels operational by the end of next year.
“To meet their (channels) requirements we have to prepare ourselves today,” he said while chairing a high level meeting to discuss the proposals for the establishment of Media City in Islamabad.
The Islamabad Media City (IMC) will provide all technical facilities under one roof such as radio and TV broadband access, uplinking and downlinking facilities, media access point, production and post production facilities, media portals, studio interviews, advance multimedia super corridor, backups, access to talent pool, trouble shooting, teleport and master control room.
