3 new ministers take oath
ISLAMABAD: At the advice of Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani , President Asif Ali Zardari has appointed Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh the finance minister, Sardar Aseff Ahmad Ali the education minister and Arbab Muhammad Zahir as narcotics control minister, according to a notification issued by the Cabinet Division on Saturday. Dr Hafeez would have the portfolios of finance, revenue, planning and development, economic affairs and statistics.
The president administered oath to the newly appointed federal ministers in a ceremony at the Presidency, Prime Minister Gilani was also present at the occasion. Dr Hafeez and Sardar Aseff were earlier working as advisers to the prime minister on finance and education respectively, while Arbab Zahir was the state minister for narcotics control.
