Zardari hosts dinner for APNS office-bearers
ISLAMABAD: PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari held a dinner at the Zardari House Thursday for the APNS office-bearers and members.
The APNS delegation apprised the PPP co-chairman of various problems being faced by the print media organisations in Pakistan and explained how this important part of media is under pressure because of different developments over the past couple of years.
Asif Zardari asked the APNS delegation to present proposals and suggestions for the PPP government and assured that the Federal Information Minister Sherry Rehman, who was also present on the occasion, will work closely with them for the resolution of their problems.
The PPP co-chairman also shared his view about the challenges that the country was facing and said that crises like food shortage, energy shortage and higher oil prices were likely to exacerbate if long term solutions are not found.
He urged the media to help the PPP government in implementing its agenda for the country. The APNS delegation included Hameed Haroon, Mujib ur Rehman Shami, Arshad Zuberi, Khushnood Ali Khan Qazi Aslam, Qazi Asad Abid Umer Shami, Sarmad Ali, Mustafa Sadiq, Sajjad Bokhari, Fasih Iqbal, Qudsia Kadri, Rehmat Ali Razi, Mehtab Khan, Peer Safaid Shah, Sardar Khan Niazi and other senior members of society.
