Young woman found strangled
KARACHI: The body of an unidentified young woman, stuffed into a gunny bag, was found at a desolate place near Pak Land Cement Factory in the remit of the Steel Town police station.
The body was moved to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for a post-mortem examination. Medico-legal sources said that the victim was three to four months’ pregnant and she appeared to be in her early 20s.
They said that the woman, clad in a blue shalwar-qamees, was strangled at least two or three days ago. The body was later kept at the Edhi morgue at Sohrab Goth for want of identification.
The police registered a case (FIR 207/2009) against unidentified culprits under Sections 302 and 34 of the PPC on behalf of the state.
