Worldcall & Net2phone sign deal

LAHORE – Worldcall Telecommunications Limited has signed a major deal with Net2phone, one of the top United States International carriers.

This is a long-term strategic partnership for the joint launch of innovative voice-telephony services in the long distance & international domain, says a press release issued on May 31.

The relationship would leverage upon Net2phone’s global network existence and know-how and Worldcall’s strong local presence and carrier grade infrastructure placed for LDI services in Pakistan anticipating the upcoming LDI/ILL Licenses.

Under this strategic agreement, Net2phone will terminate its voice traffic for Pakistan through Worldcall LDI network and provide Worldcall with an opportunity to carry the originating calls from Pakistan to rest of the world.

The scope of this partnership also includes joint ventures in launching pre-paid calling card services, corporate Virtual Private Networks (VPN) and Internet Protocol (IP) telephony services.

Worldcall Telecom is approaching the completion stage in deploying a state-of-the-art Next Generation Network (NGN), 14 Points of Presence (POPs), gateways, aggregation gateways and carrier grade switches including satellite transmission infrastructure for different telephony services.

According to an official spokesman of the Worldcall Telecom Group, “Signing of this agreement with Net2phone is achievement of yet another mile-stone in the sequence of events that the Group has been going through for last six month i.e. partnering with prime international telecom operators like BT & Data Access and vendors like Siemens, Cisco, Nuera, ZTE and HUAWEI.

With all these efforts and many more to come, Worldcall is set to emerge as the largest private telecom service provider in the de-regulated market”.
