JACOBABAD: A one-day training workshop for connectors was organised by Community Development Foundation under ‘we can end violence against women’ campaign here at Jacobabad on other day.

About 25 youth from three tehsils of Jacobabad were participated in the training. Jan Odhano and GM Soomro speaking on the occasion as resource persons said that violence against women is not personal or private matter of the individual but it is the matter of society, to curb the social evil youth has to play their due role to reduce violence against women in their respective areas.

They said that connector’s role is vary important they have to form change makers at community level and aware the community about the harm and impact of violence against women on the society.

Introducing the campaign and Community Development Foundation Mr Raza Rind informed that this campaign was started in 2004 in Pakistan and other countries of south Asia the basic aim of this campaign to bring fundamental shift and change in the attitudes of the people regarding women.

Expressing the views on training Fida Mirali( teacher) Khamiso Khan (cop) Abdul Rouf Odhano (student) Abdul Hafeez Jatoi(Journalist) Waheed Chann (Shop Keeper) Mukhtiar Khso( Social Worker) Mohammed Moosa (Youth Peer Leader) said that this kind of training is very informative and fruitful we will deliver same kind of information in our villages and in rural areas.

They’ said that such kind of trainings arouse awareness among general public and hence hope for betterment can be sowed.
