Workshop on playwriting held

Karachi: A workshop on playwriting held by the Pakistan Debate Council (PDC) went very successful as issues of declamation, presentation and art of dialogue writing in relation to drama, stage and theatre came under discussion.

The Content Head of PTV, Atif Ali, who threw light on art of playwriting, observed that although a play consisted of characters, plot and dialogues, it took a genuine shape after the process of declamation. He pointed out that the process of declamation was a basic art in drama writing.

Other speakers, including Nazeer Leghari, Abid Ali Umang, Syed Adnan Naqvi, Syed Rizwan Zaidi also appreciated the efforts of the students who took part in the speeches. Some 100 students out of 25 educational institutions participated in the workshop.

Sheikh Zeeshan Iqbal while representing PDC said that the general body elections of PDC would be held on October 12, 2010.
