Woman warns of suicide

CHAKWAL: Fifteen-year-old Tabasum Farooq, while holding the Holy Quran on her head at a press conference on Thursday, declared that she was sexually assaulted by MNA Ayaz Amir.

She alleged that the police rejected her FIR due to political pressure. She said if she was not provided justice, she would stage a sit-in in front of the Punjab Assembly in the first phase, and then she would go to parliament to register her protest. Even then if she failed to get justice, she would end her life and take such measures that would be historic. The accused, Ayaz Amir, has already denied the allegations several times.

At the press presence, Tabasum’s mother Nusrat Bibi, and two other persons, Javid Ashraf, son of Mohd Ashraf, and Mohd Qadeer, son of Ali Asghar, also sworn on the Holy Quran that the victim was speaking the truth.
