Woman strangled to death
Karachi: A married woman, Iqra, 30, was strangulated to death in a domestic violence incident reported in the Liaquatabad police limits.
SHO Liaquatabad, Inayatullah Marwat said that it was Tuesday evening, when the police station received an entry from the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital of a woman’s dead body who seemed to have been killed due to strangulation.
Upon the police reaching the hospital, the deceased woman was identified as Iqra, wife of Noman. Furthermore, at the time of inquiry the husband, Noman was missing. Moreover, it was found that five to six months before the girl escaped from her house with Noman. Later, they married at the Court.
Iqra was living at the Noman’s house situated in Sikanderabad area.
Policeman killed: PC Tariq Abbasi (aged 30-35) was shot dead in a spate of target killing in the Baldia police limits. Police sources said that, on Tuesday night PC Abbasi alongwith PC Fayyaz were patrolling in the area and during the period, they saw some suspects and led a chase. In the meantime, unidentified people riding on a motorcycle shot and killed PC Tariq. PC Fayyaz however escaped from the area to save his life.
