Woman killed by adopted son

Karachi: Rehana Kohati, the wife of Malir Development Authority Managing Director Ameer Kohati was shot dead by her adopted son / nephew over a dispute on Wednesday in the New Town police limits.

New Town SHO Rahim Shah said that the incident was reported in Erum Villas, New Town and Rehana was killed by her adopted son / nephew, Zeeshan.

Initial investigation showed that on Wednesday, Rehana was present at her house when Zeeshan came and had a dispute with her over some matter. During the dispute, Zeeshan took out a pistol and shot and killed Rehana.

In a separate case, the tortured and bullet-riddled body of a trader, identified as 40-year-old Salman Shah, was found from the Gulistan-e-Jauhar police limits.

heroin recovered: The Customs Drug Enforcement Cell of Customs arrested a female Filipino passenger leaving for Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam via Bangkok from the Jinnah International Airport and recovered two kilograms of fine quality heroin from her possession.

The woman was identified as Racquel Fermil. The Customs lodged an FIR and further investigation is under way.

Meanwhile, in another incident the Customs staff confiscated 1,400 cellular mobile phone sets from a passenger Sharfuddin who had arrived from Dubai via Emirates Airlines flight Ek-600. The passenger was detained.
