Woman drivers to call 915 in case of harassment

ISLAMABAD: A woman driver can call traffic police help line 915 in case a male driver harasses her, said Traffic Police Senior Superintendent Muhammad Zubair Hashmi.

Hashmi said he had received complaints that male drivers teased female drivers when latter stopped at road signals, adding that many male drivers never give way to female drivers.

The drivers, especially of public transport, use abusive language when female drivers make some mistake on roads while driving, he added. Hashmi has asked women drivers to call 915 and register their complaints, adding that the traffic police had been directed to take strict action on the complaints of female drivers.

He also directed the Islamabad Traffic Police Education team to sensitise male drivers about the right behaviour with female drivers.
