Woman critical after C-section by quack
TOBA TEK SINGH: Masquerading himself as a doctor, a quack in his lust to earn few bucks has put the life of a woman in danger by wrongly conducting her C-section on Thursday night in Chak 506-GB.
Dozens of relatives of Bakht Bibi on Friday blocked traffic on Kamalia-Chichawatni Road for some one hour and demanded the arrest of the quack. They also demonstrated outside the clinic of the quack in Thana Chowk by placing the charpoy of the woman in the middle of the road.
Reports said after the delivery of a baby girl quack Idrees wrongly stitched the abdomen of Bakht Bibi that caused infection. Her relatives took her to other clinics and hospitals in Kamalia, but doctors refused to treat her. Even the doctors at the Toba DHQ Hospital refused to admit her.
In desperation they took the woman to Thana Chowk and demonstrated there. On the assurance of the police that action would be taken against the quack, they took the woman to a Faisalabad hospital in critical condition.
The quack managed to escape by locking his clinic.
