Web TV launched in Karak
KARAK – Commissioner Kohat Division Musarrat Hussain said peace was prerequisite for the development and prosperity of a society, adding that media played an effective role in restoration of peace in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
Commissioner Kohat underlined the need of responsible journalism in the region and added if journalism was based on the established norms and principles then there would be no better service to the society than it. Hussain further said the province had been passing through a chaos and terrorism for several years now. He appreciated the role played by media in restoration of peace in the province.
The commissioner praised professional approach of local journalists and claimed that they abided by the golden principles of journalism to avoid yellow and sensational journalism.
Earlier, Shafi, who launched the web-based TV, in his address said his channel would follow the principles of standard and objective journalism. He added that he was successful to launch a daily newspaper in the district and now a web-based television channel to promote positive journalism in the area. He resolved that the new TV Channel would convey voice of the oppressed segments of the society to policy makers.
