Waqt TV, Naiki team up to help flood-hit

KARACHI – Prime Minster Yousuf Raza Gilani has appealed to the Pakistani nation to come forward for the help of flood victims.

Addressing a joint venture of Naiki, a student’s organisation of SZABIST, and Waqt TV telethon to collect funds for the flood affectees the other day, he highlighted the efforts of citizens and students who were providing support in the relief activities in Sindh. He added that media is also play pivotal role in this regard.

The programme was also attended by students of SZABIST, actress Mishi Khan, Jamal, Qaisar Kahn Nizamani, Ayub Khoso and social worker Abid and Anas Sheikh. The programme was hosted by Rizwan Jaffer. Gilani appreciated the support of citizens and students during the devastating floods in Sindh saying that more than 8 million people were badly affected. He endorsed that it is prime responsibility of every person to come forward and play their part for relief and rehabilitation of the victims. TV actor Qaisar Nizamani said that it was our responsibility to support our brothers, who were badly affected in recent floods. These people need our help.

Naiki organiser Ali Gohar informed that they had collected Rs0.2 million which was given to flood affectees. The participants of the programme paid rich tributes to TheNation Editor-in-Chief Majid Nizami and also appreciated the services of Nawa-i-Waqt Group.
