Wage award right of employees
ISLAMABAD – Federal Information Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has said that the 7th Wage Board Award is the right of newspaper employees.
Speaking on the floor of the National Assembly after a walkout of newsmen from the press gallery on May 31 evening, the minister said that all the four provinces had agreed to link the release of government advertisements to newspapers with the implementation of the wage award.
Sheikh Rashid said a summary in this regard had been sent to Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali and the federal cabinet would soon look into the matter. The minister said at least five major newspaper groups should implement the Award.
