US Supports Restoration of Press Club
Islamabad: US Ambassador to Pakistan Anne W. Patterson today announced a grant to the Government of Pakistan to repair damages and provide security upgrades at the Peshawar Press Club, following the December 22 terrorist attack on the facility.
In a statement, she said the Peshawar Press Club plays an important role in media operations and in the region, both as a forum for public discussion and debate and as a support network for the region’s journalists, who often work under extreme political and security pressures.
