Two women killed for honour

JHANG: Six people including four women were killed while another seven received critical injuries in various incidents and mishaps in different parts of Jhang over the past 24 hours.

According to detail, 21-year-old Misbah Akhter, daughter of Umer Draz, a resident of Mauza Jabbuana in the remit of 18-Hazari Police was murdered by some unknown culprits after raping her when she was asleep in her house. The Athara Hazari Police have registered a case and launched investigation.

In another incident, Khurram Abbas, a resident of local Mohalla Bhabrana committed suicide by hanging himself with a rope from a ceiling fan ‘reportedly’ on a minor family dispute. Twenty-six-year-old Khuram was the sole bread-earner of his family, consisting of six members including three unmarried sisters.

In another incident one Noreen Bibi, wife of Waseem Akram, a resident of Chak 167 situated in the jurisdiction of Mochiwala Police was shot dead by her cousin Muhammad Farooq on suspicion of having illicit relation with someone of the same village. She was married off some five months ago. The Mochiwala Police have registered a case and started investigation.

Meanwhile, 45-year-old Ameeran Bibi, wife of Khizer Hayat, a resident of Chak 449 in the Masson Police precincts was murdered by Manzoor along with his other accomplices. The reason of the murder was reported as a minor family problem.
