Two girls put to death

CHINIOT/MIANWALI, July 03 2006: Two girls were killed in as many incidents in Chiniot and Mianwali districts of the Punjab during the last 24 hours. In the first incident a man allegedly put his sister to death over a familial dispute in Chiniot on July 02. Mehram Khan reportedly had a brawl with his sister Razia Bibi over some petty domestic issue.

He got infuriated and shot her dead. The Langrana police are investigating. In the second incident a girl was shot dead over a matrimonial dispute in Mianwali on July 02. Asmatullah wanted to marry his relative Nasreen Bibi, but her parents did not agree to the proposal. On July 02, Asmatullah allegedly barged into the house of Muhammad Imran in the Bitian village, an employee of the district council, and shot his sister Nasreen Bibi dead. The City police have registered a case.
