Two arrested in human trafficking case

HYDERABAD, March 5: The Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) sleuths have arrested two suspects in human trafficking case of peasants and one of them has been remanded to FIA custody for three days by the concerned court of law here on Wednesday.

Ghulam Qadir alias Gul Mohammad alias Gullu Makrani was picked-up from a bus stop in Tando Adam. He was brought to Hyderabad. Earlier, the authorities had arrested Darya Khan alias Ameer Bux Sand, who was remanded to FIA custody for three days by a judicial magistrate and civil judge for interrogation in the case that was lodged on the complaint of Hussain Bux Solangi, a resident of Solangi Mohalla, Hala. Solangi had fled from Zarbad area of Iran a few months back.

Around 36 persons, including women and children, were being held in Iran by a landlord after they were smuggled to Iran by some people from Tando Adam, who were later identified as Saeed Makrani and Umer Makrani. Two of the smuggled people, Mohammad Saleh and Pir Bux, escaped from Iran and reached their homes safely.

They have been demanding recovery of their relatives and seeking attention of government functionaries in the matter. However, no recovery has so far been made.
