TUJ elects new president
PESHAWAR: The maiden meeting of the newly elected cabinet of Tribal Union of Journalists Khyber Agency was held in the Ameen Shopping Plaza Karkhano markets here on Sunday.
The newly elected president of TUJ Khyber Agency Khyal Zaman Afridi presided over the meeting in which Yaqoob Khan, Sudhir Ahmad Afridi, Siraj Khan, Shafiq Khan and Farhad Shinwary participated.The newly elected cabinet of TUJ Khyber Agency reviewed the challenges faced to the tribal journalists and deliberated over the welfare and prosperity of the tribal journalists working in Khyber Agency.
Meanwhile, Khyal Zaman Afridi said that oath taking ceremony would be held as soon as possible in which the important political, social personalities including journalists would be invited. He said that the senior journalists besides the cabinet would be taken into confidence regarding the membership and the elections at tehsilwise. Khyal Zaman Afridi demanded from the political administration to forthwith start construction of the press clubs at Landikotal and Jamrud which had already been announced by the ex-governor of NWFP. He said that for the welfare, protection and development of journalists the new elected cabinet would enthusiastically make serious and honest efforts. Khyal Zaman Afridi said that the journalist community of Khyber Agency would also work for peace and development of Khyber Agency to alleviate the miseries and grievances of the local tribesmen. He said that all the tribal agencies had already been suffering and passing through a very critical situation, he urged all teh tribal men to come on front line and keep maintaining the law and order of the FATA create prosperity.
