Tributes to be paid to Malala in Geo live telecast
KARACHI: Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain will broadcast a live programme from Sunday at 6:00 pm on Geo News and Geo TV to condemn the brutal attack on the courageous and valiant daughter of Pakistan, Malala Yousafzai, to pray for her early recovery and to pay tributes to her services for the promotion of peace and knowledge.
The programme to be presented on Geo News and Geo TV, will be participated by the children and their mothers. In the unique programme, ‘Umeed Ka Ujala, Hamari Malala’ the valiant struggle and the courage shown by the young Swat girl will be highlighted. To mark the light of knowledge, candles will also be lit.
It is worth mentioning here that the programme is the sequence of the previous telecast in which Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain narrated the story of Malala to the children and also mentioned hundreds of such young girls who had fallen victim to drone strikes, Lal Masjid operation and other such incidents. He said that thousands of such tales had been written on the pages of history.
The meritorious services the mothers render for bringing up their children would particularly be highlighted in the programme because mother’s lap is the first alma mater for a child. The mothers would be invited to express their views and the world would be made aware of their sentiments. Moreover, the necessity and importance of education would be discussed in the programme while the resolve would be reiterated to light the candle of knowledge against the darkness of ignorance.
