LAHORE: The counsel for the petitioner in case against Jang/Geo Group Thursday resorted to rowdyism and pushed the lawyer of the defendant calling him traitor.

Additional Session Judge Ghulam Abbas Sayal adjourned hearing into petition of a local lawyer Sardar Wakeel Ahmad till April 25. The petitioner asked in petition that Geo TV blamed Pakistan Army after Attack on Hamid Mir and tarnished reputation of the country and asked for issuing orders to register case against Amir Mir, brother of Hamid Mir, and editor-in-chief/ chief executive of Jang/Geo Group. From the petitioner, advocates Mansoor ur Rehman Afridi, Chaudhry Safdar Mehmood Jutt, Arshad Baig, Sardar Tahir appeared before the court.

The court also summoned SHO of Islampura Police Station. He submitted a report that it was a sensitive issue and advice is awaited from Legal Branch of police. Mansoor Khan Afridi said that it was very sensitive issue and the ISI and its chief had been blamed without any evidence. Geo telecast footage that DG ISI Zaheer ul Islam is behind the attack on Hamid Mir. He also said that case against responsible persons should be registered under Articles 22A, 124, 126, 123,502,506, 505, 510.

Meanwhile, the petitioner along with other advocates Arshad Baig, Sardar Tahir, Safdar Mehmood Jutt got unruly when Salman Faisal Advocate submitted his papers from Geo TV. They said that the papers don’t have signature of the defendant. On which Salman Faisal said that he has power of attorney. They pushed Salman Faisal and called him traitor as well. They hit on judge’s cabin and threatened that “My lord you should order to register the case otherwise…”

They pushed Jang Group lawyer out of court and locked the door. They also shouted slogans against Geo and Jang Group. This situation persisted for a while and the honourable judge left the chamber. Salman Faisal said that according to Pemra Act 34 no petition can be filed, so this application has no standing.
