Thunderstorm predicted

Karachi: The meteorological department has predicted chances of thunderstorm and rain in the city for Monday (today) while the metropolis received drizzle in various areas between Saturday night and Sunday morning.

According to Met office report, the maximum temperature was recorded at 33.2 degrees Celsius on Sunday and the minimum temperature 26.5 degrees Celsius with 72 percent humidity. The maximum temperature on Monday is expected to range between 33 degrees Celsius and 35 degrees Celsius.

The North Karachi and a model observatory in Pehlwan Goth received 4.7mm and 1.7mm rain, respectively, on Saturday night.

“The heaviest rainfall during the last few days was measured on Friday when the maximum amount of 65mm rainwater was measured at the airport and its adjoining areas. Around 52mm was received in Landhi, 48.7mm at the model observatory in Pehlwan Goth, 38mm on University Road, 34mm rain on Sharea Faisal, 10mm Saddar, 4mm at the PAF Masroor, 3mm in North Karachi and 2.8mm in Nazimabad on Friday,” a Met official told The News.

On Thursday, 41mm was measured at Shara e Faisal, the model observatories on University Road and in Pehlwan Goth received 31mm and 30mm rainwater respectively. North Karachi and Karachi Airport received 27mm and 26mm rain respectively, Saddar 21mm and Landhi 8mm.”
