Three held in Narowal rape case

ISLAMABAD,March 10,2005: The Narowal police on Wednesday arrested three persons in a rape case of an 11-year-old girl on the report of the Pakistan Muslim League Public Complaint Bureau (PCB).

PCB Chairman Imtiaz Ahmed Ranjha, after receiving report of the heinous crime, discussed the matter with District Police Officer Usman Khattak.

The police arrested three people-Mittho Masih, Akhtar and Imran-and the child was admitted to the Narowal hospital after medical examination, said a press release issued by the PML Media Centre. The young child of Class-III was allegedly raped by the three in the jurisdiction of police station Baddo Malhe of Moazah Chandarkay Mangolay.

Ranjha termed the incident a serious crime against humanity and urged the people to reach out to the bureau without any fear so that strict action could be initiated against the perpetrators. He said silence in such cases encouraged the lawbreakers and was akin to abetting the crime. He said the bureau would continue to bring justice to the people of the country.
