Three-day Rohi mela starts today
MULTAN, April 23: To project a true picture of the Seraiki belt and to counter the negative propaganda against it by allegedly linking it with the Taliban, a three-day Rohi mela is being held here on Friday at Qila Kohna Qasim Bagh.
The mela (festival) is being organized by a private Seraiki TV channel.
“We are organising the festival which includes a variety of socio-cultural programs”, chief organizer Ghazanfar Lund said. He said the crowning programme was a Sufi music festival which would continue for three days. “The idea is to revive the Sufi cultural traditions and to defy the extremists’ tendencies that are fast becoming a threat to our way of life”, he said.
