Thematic museum: Lok Virsa acknowledges professionals` services
ISLAMABAD: The Lok Virsa on Monday unveiled a plaque at the National Monument Museum acknowledging the services of professionals for creation of the first thematic museum on Pakistan.
The event acknowledged the valuable services of visualisers, resource persons, sculptors, artists, painters, creative and technical team who worked for the establishment of the museum.
The museum is dedicated to those who sacrificed their today for a better tomorrow. It depicts history, struggle for freedom, emergence and development of Pakistan through three-dimensional dioramic displays.
It also presents key achievements of the country after independence, particularly in the field of culture, tourism, education, defence, communication, science and technology, sports, industries, women development and other important and diverse sectors of national life.
Besides, it portrays the glimpses of services rendered by Quaid-i-Azam Mohammed Ali Jinnah, poet and philosopher Allama Iqbal and other national heroes and freedom fighters. A complete storyboard on Pakistan movement is also an integral part of the museum displays.
Moinul Islam Bokhari, culture secretary, said the museum was an excellent gift for the people of Pakistan who are the real bearers of the nation`s magnificent cultural heritage.
He said each member of the creative and technical team deserved special appreciation for the kind of work they did in the service of the nation.
The museum is unique in the sense that it projects Pakistan in all its dimensions of thought and action, dream and its materialisation without raising controversies.
He said the museum would go a long way in educating the younger generation about the sacrifices of their national heroes and promoting the cultural face and soft image of Pakistan to the world in a more effective way.
Lok Virsa Executive Director Khalid Javaid said the first thematic museum on Pakistan`s history and development had been created by our professionals with hard work, love and passion for their beloved country.
The contributors for museum`s technical and creative works included chief supervisor Moinul Islam Bokhari, project director Khalid Javaid, creative directors Naseemullah Rashid and Asif Javed Shahjahan, resource persons Qutubuddin Shaikh, Dr Zawwar Hussain Zaidi, Shariful Mujahid, Abdul Sattar, Akram Shaheedi and Ahmad Salim, sculptors Aftab Ahmed Changezi and Saimwell, artist Mohammad Azeem Iqbal, painters Saleem Minhas and Qaiser Minhas.
