The News staffer passes away

LAHORE: Prof Mohammad Amin Malik, senior re-write sub-editor at The News, Lahore, died here on Friday evening minutes after he entered the Jang building reception. Prof Amin suffered a massive heart attack while he was waiting for the elevator to move up to the 4th floor, where The News offices are situated, and died before medical aid could be provided. He is survived by four daughters and a son. Prof Amin joined The News, Lahore, in 1995 and remained associated with The News till his death. The Editor and entire staff of The News have expressed their heartfelt condolences with the bereaved family and prayed to Allmighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and give courage to his family members to bear this loss with courage.

Meanwhile the Punjab Chief Minister Ch Pervaiz Elahi, PML president Ch Shujaat Hussain, Punjab Ministers including Raja Basharat, Dr Shafiq Chaudhry and Information Secretary Taimur Azmat Abbass have expressed their shock over the death of Amin Malik. Expressing their heartfelt condolences with the bereaved family they prayed that Allmighty Allah might rest the departed soul in eternal peace.
