Taliban kidnapped Shahzad on spying charge in 2006
ISLAMABAD: Syed Saleem Shahzad was kidnapped in 2006 by the Taliban in Helmand in southern Afghanistan, accusing him of being a spy but set him free after seven days.
Several Pakistani journalists have been found dead in such circum-stances as surrounded the death of triggering protests by reporters and media organizations.
Journalists have also been killed by suspected militants in the tribal areas of the northwest, the epicentre of militancy in Pakistan.
