Swedish lawmaker attends journalists’ award ceremony
LAHORE: Swedish parliamentarian Malik Nasim presided over an award ceremony organised by the Pakistan Association of Photo Journalists and the Social Democratic Journalists Association on Sunday.
Senior photographers MA Fayaz, Jalil-ud-Din Siddiqui and Sofi Rafeeq Chaudhry were given awards for their distinguished achievements in photography. Social Democratic Journalists Association also gave away gifts to the senior photographers.
Nasim hailed the services of the photographers and called on them to promote a good image of Pakistan worldwide. Lahore Press Club (LPC) President Sarmad Bashir said honouring senior journalists is a good tradition, which should be continued. Senior photographer FE Chaudhry, who is nearly 100 years old, could not attend the function due to his ailing health. Senior photographers and journalists Tariq Mahmood, Dr Aijaz Hafeez Khan and ZA Tariq were also given shields on the occasion.
