Steps planned to curb cyber crimes

KARACHI- Sindh cabinet decided to take all possible measures to check cyber crimes in the province. The cabinet, which met under the chairmanship of Governor Mohammedmian Soomro , decided to provide police and concerned organizations with necessary equipment for detection of cyber crimes.

It was decided that the federal government would be approached for necessary legislation so as to take effective action in checking the crime and against the criminals.

The cabinet took stock of the overall law and order situation in the province. It was informed that an encouraging headway had been made in the process of revival of economy and investors from both within and outside Pakistan had showed practical interest to make investment in the country.

The cabinet was of the view that under prevailing condition, a congenial law and order situation was necessary and as such the steps in this regard should be made more effective.

Mr Soomro directed the police to identify the mentors of criminals throughout the province and ensure action against them without any distinction.

The meeting was informed that community police officers were being posted at every police station, who would perform duties with the community members whereas the police’s helpline “15” was being expanded to the town level.

Discussing the steps taken for good governance, Mr Soomro directed that the process started for disciplinary action should be completed within the specified period. He made it clear that burden of corrupt and inefficient government functionaries would not be tolerated.

The governor said the people in villages and cities of the province were looking for an improvement in the supply of water, health and other sectors and everyone would have to work on an emergency basis.

He asked the staff of the agriculture and irrigation departments to enhance their liaison with farmers and pursue them for maximum use of available resources and equipment. He directed that land levellers be made functional within the given time.

Regarding land tax, it was pointed out that the concession given for 12 acres of irrigated and 24 acres of non-irrigated land would be applicable from Rabi crop.

The meeting was informed that micro-filing units were being provided in five more cities for transparent maintenance of property records.
