State-run TV to get Rs4 more from power bills: Qasmi

QUETTA: PTV Chairman Attaul Haq Qasmi has said that the state-run TV had been accorded approval to get Rs4 more from electricity bills. He said that this institution was the custodian of high values and traditions and dramas should be created to reflect wishes of the masses giving them some lesson.

He was speaking to delegations of artistes and office-bearers of Collective Bargaining Agents (CBA) here. According to a press release, he said that the management of the state-run TV was trying to revive the glory of this vital national institution by encouraging its workers so that private production could be discouraged. He said they had got approval to get Rs4 more for PTV from electricity bills that would add up to Rs50 million monthly.

He assured the delegations that proposal for strengthening manpower and giving technical facilities to Quetta centre would be taken care of. During his visit to union office, he congratulated the CBA and PTV officials on approval of TV Charter. Earlier, PTV employees, artistes, CBA heads and others welcomed him on airport upon his arrival.
