Six killed in various incidents of violence

At least six people were killed in different incidents in the city here on Sunday, police and rescue sources said. As per details, a man was gunned down by unidentified armed men near Banaras Bridge in the limits of Pirabad police station. He was identified as Muslim Khan, 45, son of Khasta Khan, who was resident of the same area. The deceased belonged to Mardan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

Police said that unknown men shot and killed Muslim Khan near Banaras Bridge and fled. Police suspected personal enmity behind the murder. The deceased used to sell old shoes in Banaras. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.

In another incident, a body was recovered from the vicinity of an Imambarhah in the limits of Gulshan-e-Maymar police station. The deceased was identified as Raja Munsif Ali, 30, son Raja Ameer Ali, who lived in New Karachi. Police said that deceased was killed with shovel attack over personal dispute. The body was shifted to JPMC for medico-legal formalities.

Separately, a man was killed in a road accident near Dawood Chowrangi in the limits of Quaidabad police station. The deceased was identified as Nawabzada. Rescue sources said that deceased was hit by speedy truck as result he received severe injuries and died on the spot. The body was shifted to JPMC for medico-legal formalities.

In addition, a man was gunned down while his companion sustained injuries in firing at a carpet shop near Irum Shopping Center in the limits of Taimooria police station. The deceased was identified as Irfan, 45, while the injured was identified as Imran. Police said that unknown armed men opened fire near Irum shopping centre as a result Irfan received severe injuries which proved fatal. The deceased and injured hailed from Sahaiwal. According to police, brother in-law of the deceased was also killed five months ago. The body was shifted to ASH for autopsy.

One Ayaz, 30, died in a rice mill due to suffocation falling in the limits Site-A police station. The deceased was resident of Qasba Colony. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. A man, identified as Abdul Rahim, was killed near Bahsir Chowk, New Karachi by unidentified people. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
