SID media cell to work till 1 am
KARACHI: The working hours of the Press Information and Electronic Media Cell of Sindh Information Department (SID) have been extended to 1 a.m. to enhance the utility of SID, said Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon.
The Minister took this decision while presiding over a meeting of officers of his ministry, said an official statement here on Sunday. He said that there is a great responsibility on the shoulders of Public Relations Officers (PROs) and that they should daily feed print and electronic media about the development projects and the pace of work, relating to their respective ministries.
This would help disseminate the information to the masses about the Government’s performance, he said. The Minister directed that quick explanation and the opinion of the Government be given in case of any misreported news about any Government department so that the people should know the true picture.
He asked that proper arrangements for training to the officers selected from Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) and the cooperation from Federal Government’s training institutes would also be sought. He acknowledged the strong role of media especially of electronic media through which the information is disseminated in the entire world within next movement.
