Shujaat invites media to see MPs’ degrees
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Q chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has asked legislators belonging to his party to immediately send their graduation degrees to the PML-Q secretariat and invited investigators of the Election Commission and the Higher Education Commission and the media to examine them.
In a statement issued here on Monday, he said the step had been taken to restore people’s confidence in the leadership and elected representatives of their party in the wake of the controversy over fake degrees.
Talking to Dawn, Chaudhry Shujaat said PML-Q members were involved in less than five per cent cases of fake degree and it was prudent that the position of all parliamentarians who had genuine qualifications should be known.
He said his party would never support fake-degree holders.
