Sharjeel orders activating of information dept’s media cell
KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Information and Archives, Sharjeel Inam Memon has asked the Secretary of the department to activate Media Cell established in the department and float a summary to the Chief Minister for hiring staff on contract basis to make it target oriented.
He said while presiding over an introductory meeting with the Senior Officers of Information Department here Saturday. He also emphasised the need for reactivating print media monitoring system and ensure timely action on news items pertaining to social & human rights issues and complaints against police. Sharjeel spelled out his priorities and stressed upon joint efforts to enhance the functioning of Information Department. He observed that the Information Department was the backbone of Sindh government, therefore, endeavours should be made not only to streamline the routine affairs but also to highlight development policies aimed at welfare of people of Sindh.
