SCBA to meet on 18th to discuss Geo Super ban

Says govt action bringing bad name to country

KARACHI: The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) has summoned its meeting in Islamabad on Monday to discuss the government ban on Geo Super and Aag channels. Also, a Pakistan Bar Council member Yasin Azad has demanded removing curbs on Geo Super and Aag channels, which are bring a bad name to the country.

Talking to this scribe, SCBA General Secretary Qamaruzzaman said the incumbent government has even left behind the Musharraf-led government in using all negative tactics against the Geo Television Network. He said the SCBA would pass a resolution against the ban on Geo Super and Aag channels in Monday’s meeting and also finalise a future strategy in this regard. On the other hand, Yasin Azad asked the rulers for what reasons they were punishing the youth of Pakistan by depriving them of a quality entertainment channel and the single sports channel of Pakistan.
