SC rejects Sindh’s report on environmental pollution
ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Friday directed the Federation and all the four provincial governments to submit progress reports in the environmental pollution case. The three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali heard the suo moto case regarding environmental pollution in the country.
During the course of proceedings the Sindh government submitted progress report in the court. The bench rejected the report and remarked that the correct figures were not shown in the report. The chief justice remarked that the treatment plant which was established in 1992 exists only on papers. The court sought fresh reports regarding steps taken to control environmental pollution in the country and adjourned the hearing of the case for an indefinite period.
