SC directs police to recover woman in 4 weeks
ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Friday directed the Rawalpindi police DIG to ensure the recovery of a married woman within four weeks and submit a report to the court.
A four-member bench of the Supreme Court, comprising Justice Javed Iqbal, Justice Fakir Muhammad Khokhar, Justice Mian Shakirullah Jan and Justice M Javed Buttar, was hearing a suo moto case of the abduction of the woman, Quratul Ain, by some unknown people.
She was kidnapped four years ago from Rawalpindi, and her spouse, Qaiser Abbas, filed an application with the Supreme Court for his wife’s recovery. DIG Marwat Shah appeared before the court and submitted that they were trying their best to recover the woman.
He further submitted that they have also been trying to contact her on her cellphone. He informed the apex court that the woman’s brother was not happy with her marriage outside the family.
