Rs160 million to be allocated for setting up IT laboratories

KARACHI, June 10 2005: Computer education will be started in 206 higher secondary schools from August 1 in Sindh. For this purpose Rs160 million are being spent on the establishment of laboratories and provision of equipment.

This was informed in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim here on June 9.

The chief minister directed that computer science should be introduced as a compulsory subject from the lower levels in the educational institutions.

Dr Arbab said that positive schemes relating to the information technology should be started and full advantage be taken of the facilities provided by the government.
