Rs1 million for the family of late journalist

KARACHI: The information minister, Sharjeel Memon, announced that the government will award one million rupees to the family of Yousuf Khan.

He was speaking at a condolence ceremony organised by the Press Photographers Association at the Karachi press club.

The provincial minister of power, Shazia Marri, and minister of revenue, Jam Mehtab Dahar were also present.

Qaim Ali Shah also expressed grief over the journalist’s death and instructed the information minister to award another 0.5 million rupees to his family from his side.

Veteran journalist and chief reporter of daily Nawa-i-Waqt, Muhammad Yousuf Khan, suffered a heart attack on August 3.

He was taken to the National Medical Centre where he passed away. He was 54 years old and leaves behind two sons, a daughter and a widow.

The chief minister assured Khan’s son of all possible assistance from the Sindh government.
